St. Pat’s 2024
Lots of events this weekend for St. Patrick’s Day – here’s what I found happening in Waukesha. I hope you have the luck of the Irish on your side and get to go out and patronize these local businesses–they are putting in the effort to bring you a great time. But as always, please enjoy safely and have a designated driver. Come celebrate St. Patricks Day all weekend long @ The Point. We will have homemade food all weekend long. Corned Beef, Guiness Irish Beef Stew, Irish Nachos, Rueben Sandwiches, and more. Plenty of drink specials taboot. Get your day started with a delicious Irish Coffee! Get Ready to Sham-rock…

Chef Pam’s Kitchen
I love collaboration and working together to help both sides benefit. So when Chef Pam’s Kitchen reached out to me to come in and have a discussion on how we could work together moving forward, I was ecstatic. If you aren’t familiar, Chef Pam’s Kitchen is located on Main Street near the Five Points and recently expanded its footprint in Waukesha to offer cooking classes and rental space for foodie entrepreneurs. The space is gorgeous and she is doing great business! Chef Pam had seen my Sundays with Sarah videos and wanted to know if I was interested in hosting one of my “Lives” as an event in her space.…

Outside My Comfort Zone – Paddleboarding
Four years ago, I stepped out of my comfort zone and stood up on a paddleboard for the first time. It was a little nerve-wracking thinking that I was going to topple over, like all of the people in America’s Funniest Home Videos, but I took it slow, followed guidance from my friends, and it has become an annual girl’s day on the lake adventure that I love. When I was first asked to attend, I barely even understood what paddleboarding was and thought there would be no way this would be something I could enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, I love the water, but I am not the strongest…

The Craft Lounge
Downtown Waukesha has a lot of options when it comes to food and beverage. What more could Waukesha need? Maybe a place that specializes in craft drinks? Enter The Craft Lounge. Located in the former Bernie’s Tap Room on the corner of Clinton and Main Street, this large space has been updated with new seating, fresh paint, and a better bar setup. I stopped in with some friends for the Packers final regular season game. The first thing I noticed was the new lounge seating that was separated from the gathering tables that Bernie’s had. The beverage coolers that were behind the bar have been placed on top of the…

Decadent Scrima’s Pizza of Waukesha
Updated 11/9/2020–The pizza game is strong in Waukesha. Whether you like thick or thin crust, traditional or crazy toppings, there is a pizza place for you. Sure Waukesha has the national chains, but when you have so many great pizza places, why go there? I first learned of Scrima’s Pizza when Woodman’s opened in Waukesha. They have an area past the produce section and off the meat department where they make pizzas–take-and-bake and by the slice. They also have rotisserie chickens but that’s another post. The second time I saw Scrima’s was at the Waukesha Farmers’ Market with its wood-fired chiminea stove that they cook pizza in. There is always…

Wings Around Waukesha – Kelly’s Bleachers Big Bend
My husband and I are always on the hunt for new places to try that aren’t chain restaurants. And if the place has wings on their menu, double bonus. We decided to go out for a fish fry and I had heard great things about Kelly’s Bleachers Big Bend. This hidden gem, well you can see it from the freeway but getting to it when off the freeway is tricky, has been a variety of places through the years. Most recently it was Coachhouse and when I was a child it was Lucy and Ethel’s. I got out of work early on a Friday and we went for an “early…

Outside My Comfort Zone – Fletcher Arms
This post is long overdue. When I found out I was pregnant, I put most of my blogging on hold while I prepped for CJ’s arrival. Now I’m playing catch up with some fun experiences I had prior too and during my pregnancy. I’m actually holding him while I proof this.**I know this topic can be a bit controversial, but I am sharing my experience and my opinion. In the past few years, I realized there are certain things that I haven’t done because I have not stepped outside my comfort zone. Ask many of my friends and they will tell you I play things safe 🙂 But in the…

First Time Mom – Third Trimester
This post will be a little different than others, but it’s about the newest stage of my life and I want you all to follow along on this journey! This post was originally written for The Lake Country Mom blog, but I want my followers to be able to see it as well. Resuming the story about my pregnancy, my third trimester went from the beginning of April until June 11 when our son, Cameron James, was born (15 days early). I’ll get to Cameron’s arrival on my next posts, but this one is focusing on that final trimester. I call this one the “it’s getting real trimester.” To say I felt big…

First Time Mom – Second Trimester
This post will be a little different than others, but it’s about the newest stage of my life and I want you all to follow along on this journey! This post was originally written for The Lake Country Mom blog, but I want my followers to be able to see it as well. Picking up where I left off in my last post about my first pregnancy, I have completed my second trimester and Baby A is only a few short weeks away from arriving. But I wouldn’t have made it through this second trimester without all of the support and love from family and friends. My husband and I have dubbed this…
