Move It Monday: Egg Muffins
I have been looking for healthier breakfast options as I am starting to get bored with yogurt and granola. I don’t want to burn out on it and a warm breakfast on a cooler morning is always a good option to keep me warm in my freezing office. And I’m starting my morning workouts again – my cousin and I have a bet of loser buys Starbucks on the line. #PSL for her #Chaitea for me! Today I got up and did a quick workout of crunches, lunges, squats, leg lifts, planks and pushups. I’m feeling great! I have had this recipe on my Pinterest breakfast page for quite sometime…

What’s Going on Downtown?
This piece is a bit more Op/Ed than I typically do, but I want to share a concern of mine and maybe get an answer. I’m by no means trying to be a Debbie Downer about Downtown Waukesha with this post, but I’m maybe looking for some answers….. Let me start by saying that I love the city of Waukesha and all the fun places to eat and shop in downtown. I went to Carroll College (University), have worked in downtown Waukesha for 9+ years, lived in downtown for 5 years and am currently pursuing buying a home in the City. I would not do this if I didn’t think…

Crockpot Cashew Chicken
I would love to say that this recipe is my own, but I am not creative enough to think this up. Besides Sesame Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein, Cashew Chicken is my next go-to item when I order take out Chinese food. I have had it with a white sauce before and then with a more soy based sauce and prefer that version. So when I found this recipe on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it. And seeing as my boyfriend will eat just about anything, I have a great test subject for recipes now 🙂 I found it interesting that the sauce called for ketchup and in…

BlogPal: Weekend Activities
Fall is upon us in Wisconsin – fields are changing color, leaves aren’t looking as vibrant of a green and getting ready to turn orange/red and drop from the branches, and pumpkins have arrived at some of the stores. This is my favorite time of year as I feel mother nature is at her prime. Days are warm for a tee (long or short-sleeved) and jeans and evenings are cool for fleece jackets and bonfires. My BlogPal and I decided to focus on Weekend Activities for this next posting because there are just so many things that we can do on the weekends. I also think that there is a…

Fall Tailgate Burger
Last month, I joined the BlogPal program and was paired with Amanda from Michiana (Michigan/Indiana border). We have been learning about each other and reading the other’s blog to learn more about the person. Then this week we are writing on a common topic and share this with our followers. We selected “Fall” as our topic and as a food lover myself, I have a few recipes to share with you and Amanda will be sharing some great Fall makeup tips that I will share with you when her post is live. Being from Wisconsin and an avid Packers fan, I look for any chance to light the grill and…

Premium Cocktails Without All the Work
As a woman in my early 30s, I enjoy my fair share of cocktails but sometimes I hate pulling out all the ingredients (or even having to go buy all of them) to make a margarita or cosmopolitan — and sometimes the pre-made ones by Mike’s or Smirnoff are just too sweet and don’t taste right. Well, I think I might have found the solution. Kiss Mix Premium Liquor Cocktails sent me some of their product and asked for my honest opinion on them. I was pretty stoked when I saw the awesome insulated cooler filled with goodies show up at my door. How cute are these cans with the…

Remembering 9/11
I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to be able to see what I want to, do what I want to and be with those that mean the most to me. I cannot thank those that have sacrificed their lives enough to make it equal up to what they have lost. Beautiful views like these that I have a chance to witness remind me of the vast awesome world I live in. My father, both my grandfathers and one grandmother all served in the US military branches and I am so proud of them all. My favorite veteran – my father – Vietnam Vet My Father and Grandfather returning from…

#MKEFoodies – Wild Earth Cucina Italiana
Tonight, I had the opportunity to experience a dining venue at Potawatomi Bingo Casino like many won’t be able to. Wild Earth Cucina Italiana is not typically open on Mondays, but for the #mkefoodies group, we were treated to a special night of food and drinks in a food station atmosphere. The restaurant ambiance has a warm, earthy feel to it, with natural stone on the pillars, brown tones and foliage. Large booths were against the walls and tables filled the middle of the dining room. We were greeted by Paul & Lori of the #mkefoodies group and provided aprons from Wild Earth with a pocket full of swag. The…

Braise & Mumford Night
Last night ranks really high on my list of dinner and concert evenings! My friend Shauna and I tried out Braise before the Mumford & Sons concert last night and we were really impressed. Braise is one of a handful of restaurants in Milwaukee that really focuses on using local ingredients. It is Milwaukee’s first Community Supported Restaurant (CSR!) We chose to go to Braise as part of the Eat Milwaukee Challenge, that I found out thru this Nibble, going on now through September 15. I figured if I couldn’t make dinner with fresh Farmer’s Market fair, I could at least try to eat local and this was a great…
