Miller Park 2015
Saturday was my first trip to Miller Park to cheer on the Brewers. My friend invited us to enjoy a tailgate and celebrate her 30th birthday at the game and we jumped at the chance. There was a special on tickets and on select food items in the stadium for this game, so it made it even a better trip. We coordinated before the big day to figure out the tailgate food and everyone brought something to share. We had brats, burgers, beer dip, taco dip, guacamole, sour grapes, cookies, Jell-o shots, veggies and dip, pasta salad and cake. Everything was DELICIOUS and we couldn’t ask for better weather for…

Pasta Sarah
A few weeks ago, my creative juices were flowing and I decided to make a pasta dish for dinner. I didn’t really know what I wanted to make, so I just grabbed some ingredients out of the fridge and let the magic happen. I had some Italian sausages from Sorgs Quality Meats and Sausages so I chopped them up and decided to pan fry them. browned them and made sure they were cooked through and then removed them from the heat and set them on the side. I boiled up some Fettuccine noodles in salted water. Then I grabbed some zucchini, gold and red cherry tomatoes and chopped them up.…

Spring in Downtown Waukesha
Now that the weather is nice enough for me to take a walk on my lunch hour, I have the opportunity to check out all the new and changing things around downtown. You have probably heard about the Generations at 5 Points/Smokey O’s switchero. Generations still has the shades drawn on the front and Smokey O’s has paper on the windows. I hope these businesses open soon. 225 South is coming along nicely. The new dark paint color and sign really make the spot look classy. I can’t wait to try the food. I love me some pasta! Spring City Wine Co. will be opening soon next to the Clarke…

El Sol de Mexico
My guy and I live on opposite ends of the great city of Waukesha. When I head to his place after work, I drive past El Sol de Mexico on Broadway. It has intrigued me for a while and I have heard good things about the place. I asked my guy if he ever ate there and he hadn’t but was up for trying it sometime. So one evening before we ran some errands, we checked the place out. The front parking lot is a little odd if you come from west, as all the front spots angle the other direction. It was after I squeezed into a spot that…

The Best Meal I Have Made My Guy….So Far
Last week, I received the ultimate praise from my guy. This is the praise that every woman that wants her man to be happy loves to hear. What is the best way to your man’s heart? Through his stomach. Ok and being loving and supporting and a good listener and all those other things. But as a girl that loves to cook, I love it when I please my man with my cooking. So what was it that I heard him say? “This is the best meal you have ever made” And the best part – the meal was sooooo simple, thanks to some Pinterest searching and some Food Network…

Grilled Cheese – Butter Vs. Miracle Whip
I love a good grilled cheese sandwich. In high school, I used to get a grilled cheese and chocolate chip cookies for lunch almost daily. The school’s convection oven would toast up the bread but leave it buttery and the cheese was always perfectly melted. And the cookies were barely cooked and more like cookie dough than cookies. They were a hit with everyone and sold out daily! Grilled cheese is a simple sandwich but oh so delicious. Recently I read that people use mayo on the bread instead of butter. This made me really curious and I decided to try it. My guy was on board for this taste…

Oconomowoc Night Out
My friend Kacey had his birthday last week and invited his friends out for a night of food, drinks and fun in Oconomowoc. We started at Lakerz because they have ample seating for a large group. Check out the birthday boy anxiously awaiting the arrival of his friends (or food, not quite sure which was more important at that moment – LOL). Our server was absolutely amazing. She wrote down very little and remembered just about everything. At one point our group was up to 18 people and she kept on top of drinks and even separated all our checks at the end. I was told their burgers are superb and…

Easter Egg Tie Dye Experience
Last week I asked my guy if he planned to dye eggs with his girls this year for Easter. (Secretly I asked because I love coloring eggs and haven’t in years!) I think it’s something that every child should experience for Easter and make the table look pretty. He agreed and this past Saturday it was dye time! His youngest went shopping with us and picked out a tie dye Paas kit. I had no idea how it was going to turn out, but I figured we could always just do basic dying as well if needed. We boiled up 15 eggs and three ended up cracking in the boiling…

Grilling Time
Last week Friday was a beautiful start to Spring. The temperatures reached into the 60s by mid-day and the sun was shining. Unfortunately the weather didn’t look like it was going to stay for long and Wisconsin was going to be back into the 40s the next day. So…..being the hostess that I love being, I texted my friend group and invited them over for my first grill out of the year. How I host a grill out is that everyone brings their own meat to grill and a side to share. I handle the grilling and supply a side myself, and then we eat, drink and talk about life.…

Qdoba: Bacon Jalepeno Queso – Ole!
I was contacted by Qdoba last month and made aware of a new queso that they planned to unveil in March. I was pretty excited seeing as my favorite thing on the Qdoba menu is the three-cheese nachos! When I was told the queso had bacon and jalepenos in it, I knew this was right up my guys alley. So we stopped at Qdoba on the day the new queso launched. We stopped in and I chose the three cheese nachos and asked or the bacon jalepeno queso with chicken. My guy went for a chicken burrito and also got the bacon jalepeno queso. I love the Qdoba really let’s…
